Dear Mr. Brown,

I really enjoyed this school year in reading and I kind of hope you enjoyed your last year with fourth and fifth grade! I especially enjoyed the excitement of this year in our activities such as, March Madness, Cats vs. Dogs, and random quizzes. I think that I will definitely miss being one of your students but I hope that you will LOVE your new job next year. I like that in reading class I somehow felt more of a competition in things like debates and the quizzes that we did more than any other class in fourth grade.

Wonder

Auggie’s mother is very doting. According to the text, “I missed you so much Auggie, Are you hungry?” I personally find that very affectionate and kind even tough being a mother your suppose to do that. I think that it’s important to know that she loves and is very caring for Auggie because he may have a facial disorder which causes him to possibly be very distant from people because he doesn’t look normal. Auggie’s mother also is encouraging because she encouraged her son to go to school even though he doesn’t want to and he was nervous to go because of his disability. That’s why I think that she is inspirational and caring.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I rate this book five stars because it is very interesting and the characters have their own individual personalities instead of them all being the same.

Isabella’s mother

I like Isabella’s mother because she seems so active but at the same time she still cares for Isabella.

When Isabella’s Mother Freaked Out About Candles

I like when she was freaking out about candles because I think it’s just funny and very random and especially if she has a lot of more important things she could be worrying about for a wedding.

Wonder

I am wondering if he will make some friends if she goes to school because he seems to be different to everybody around him.

Blended (Finish Book)

Isabella’s mother is paranoid. According to the text, “MOM IS STILL going crazy with wedding stuff. She is obsessing over scented candles now, apparently the daisy candles are for ambience.” I think that Isabella’s mother is getting neurotic and paranoid about the whole wedding and trying too hard to make everything perfect and kind of obsessing over one specific thing in the wedding over anything else. Isabella’s mother also seems to care about one thing way more than other things at one moment like the candles and she might not care about the things she should be worring most about.

Blended (Ch. 9-25)

Isabella is ruminative. According to the text, “Students say, ” Enough of that,’ and trying to figure out what they can do so it doesn’t happen again.” I think that she thinks deeply about news, or just something she hears a lot about. Issabella often thinks deeply about things like her parents being divorced and if the reason why their divorced and especially what her teachers say because she seems to listen closely to her teachers and news that she hears from her classmates and from her family and relatives. I think just part of her personality is to listen closely and to think about thing deeply and closely.

Blended (Ch. 1-9)

Isabella is dubious. According to the text, ”Your mom is angry at me, Izzy, not you. Weird. Daddy hardly ever called me that. It was Mom’s nickname for me. He liked the sound of Isabella more.” I think that if I were Isabella I would be sceptical about my father calling me something my mother calls me. Isabella’s parents always fight and disagree which would most likely make her dubious about her father calling her a name that her mother likes and the father dislikes. I think it would also be weird that the parents always find a way to fight with each other and that may be an reason why Isabella could be sceptical about her father.

When The Circus Came To Town

When The Circus Came To Town by Laurence Yep talks about a girl who was resolute about a dream. Her cousins and her joined a circus for dancing and playing music. She later found out she had smallpox that made her embarrassed. Soon after she found out she had smallpox she icleated herself in her house while watching her cousins practice their dances. Her cousins later convince her not to be afraid or embarrassed and to chase after her dreams so she goes to the circus confidently then she plays her harmonica there for the dancers and to all of the audience to hear.

The Bridge Home (Final Blog)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

The reason why I rate it five stars is because I love the confidence of the book and the self dependence in the book. For example, when they ran away they were homeless but they were still assertive and managed to get their needs treated by the money they were earning by selling necklaces.

Muthu

I like Muthu because he is a very calm person and isn’t afraid to try to stop conflict even if he is shy or doesn’t really ever talk.

When Muthu was stopping a fight

I enjoy the part when Muthu was trying to stop a fight because that means he is a upstander and despises conflict.

Bridge Home (Ch. 20-25)

Arul is indebted . According to the text, ”We’ll be alright, we can buy more beads, and you can try to make a go of Rukku’s necklace business, like you’d wanted. After all, it’s thanks to you and her that we’ve still got any money left.” To me that means that Arul is very thankful that they both made a business that helps them earn money as children so they can take care of all their needs even if they don’t have parents that they depend on to pay for their needs and to take care of them. I think it also helps that they seem to kind of like making necklaces and they also are very successful in their business even though they have a lot of challenges to face just as kids.
